The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania has prepared “Lithuania’s Indo-Pacific Strategy - For a Secure, Resilient and Prosperous Future". The project was developed to implement the government's aim of enhancing Lithuania's international position, its political and diplomatic relations with partner countries in the Indo-Pacific, ensuring the security and well-being of Lithuanian citizens, and opening up new opportunities for Lithuanian exporters in the most advanced global markets. It also aims to implement the guidelines for the realization of Lithuania's interests in the region, which were presented during a government meeting in May 2021, by preparing a strategic document for Lithuania's engagement in the Indo-Pacific. The document serves as a basis to maintain momentum for the long-term functioning of Lithuanian institutions in the region. The key interest of Lithuania's engagement in the Indo-Pacific is to strengthen the rules-based international order. On July 5 2023, the project was discussed in the Committee for Foreign Affairs in Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and approved by the Lithuanian Government.
